Recession busting companies turn to virtualisation and storage consolidation experts
Chesterfield, Tuesday 23rd June 2009 – B2net, a vendor-independent storage integrator, today announced another strong financial year, with a company turnover of £38 million in 2008/2009. Despite industry research from IDC showing that the storage software sector has reached a five year low, B2net is beating the recession by achieving 97 per cent growth in the past two years.
“IT directors are under intense pressure to deliver ROI, and are having to be more intelligent about how they spend their money”, comments Jason Clark, managing director, B2net. “They are no longer satisfied with automatically investing in a big brand ‘one hat fits all’ solution and are looking for more innovative, cost-effective solutions. B2net’s expertise in desktop and server virtualisation, combined with nine years experience in integrating and consolidating storage infrastructures, gives us a massive advantage over our competitors. Simplifying environments and reducing costs are at the core of what we do, and companies in the public and private sectors recognise that they can achieve both with B2net over other providers.”
The market has demanded that organisations look to make cost savings. By looking at IT spend and the potential of storage consolidation and virtualisation, B2net is working with potential customers to streamline their technology environments. The company is also seeing a significant uptake in demand for its Managed Services. This offering takes costly, complex and critical IT operations such as, the management of storage estates, VMWare environments and Disaster Recovery (DR) and delivers them back to the business as a service.
“We have always been customer focused and intelligent in our technical thinking. By continuing to do what we have always done – with the addition of Managed Services – we are proving a compelling option for organisations looking to IT to make cost savings,” states Clark.
Impressive customer deals in both the public and private sectors have been a mainstay for B2net. Westminster Primary Care Trust selected B2net to implement a comprehensive long-term DR programme at Westminster Primary Care Trust, and a central government department recently contracted B2net to design and manage the implementation and integration of a unified storage, backup and DR infrastructure. Earlier this year, B2net was chosen by the Mace Group to manage the implementation of a centralised IT system, comprising a new WAN, storage and disaster recovery.
B2net has continued to receive industry recognition for its technical expertise and customer support, this year being awarded ‘Storage Reseller of the Year’ at The Storage Awards, the ‘Outstanding Achievement VIP Partner’ at the NetApp Partner Awards - for the third year running, and was shortlisted for the ‘Storage Reseller of the Year’ for the Microscope Awards for Channel Excellence (ACEs). B2net was also voted into the top five percentile across Europe for support capabilities in the independent NetApp ‘ASP Customer Satisfaction Survey’, achieving a higher than average result for overall satisfaction compared to the average results for EMEA.
Clark concludes: “Our successes this year in the face of recession are testament to our commitment to retaining staff and customers as well as our continued investment in developing intellectual property. Whatever challenges the recession throws at the market, we will maintain our position ahead of the competition as the most technically knowledgeable integrator out there. A real area of growth for us in 2009-2010 will be Managed Services, as there is a real market need for innovative managed solutions, and we will be expanding our portfolio of managed services across all sectors.”
