~ Official people finding dataset now available online ~
192.com, the UK’s leading people finding website, today announces the addition of the 2009 Electoral Roll to the site. For people finding, this launch is the most significant of the year as it provides a publicly searchable record of names and addresses across the country for the past year.
As well as a common tool for searching for friends and family, the Electoral Roll is essential to specialist people finding service providers such as family tracing agencies, private investigators and professional researchers. It’s also a critical tool for identity verification used by businesses as diverse as e-commerce websites through to real estate agents.
The official Electoral Roll is the premier dataset for people finding as it gives much broader coverage of the population than the phonebook or social networking sites such as Facebook.
This launch sees 22 million records added to 192.com including 3.5 million newly registered names and addresses. A final 3 million records are expected in February which will bring the total number of records for the year to 25 million.
Dominic Blackburn, Product Director at 192.com commented, “Launching the 2009 Electoral Register in the first week of the year is the fastest we’ve ever delivered it to our users. This greatly enhances our online people finding service ahead of several more exciting launches due out in the first quarter of the year”.
